Medium Risk Confined Space Training Overview

Medium Risk Confined Space Training provides delegates with the skills and confidence to work safely in a confined space. This is done through implementing relevant control measures and carrying out self-rescue, should it ever be required.

The classroom environment education will consist of trainer explanation, group discussions, videos and practical classroom exercises. Following this, there will be the team practical within a simulated confined space trailer unit. This is so delegates can gain some hands-on experience with their equipment, teamwork and safety within confined space environments.

Course Objectives

This Confined Space Course is essential for delegates to understand the regulations and permits when working in medium risk confined space. Furthermore, the Medium Risk Confined Space Training aims to help the delegate recognise foreseeable risks and act accordingly. In addition, the delegates is taught how to access equipment. As a result, delegates can confidently navigating their way around a medium risk confined space, both independently and within their team.

At the end of the 1 day course, delegate undertake a multiple choice assessment consisting of around 20 questions. A 75% pass grade is required. As well as a practical assessment in a simulated confined space trailer unit.

On successful completion, you will receive a City and Guilds Accredited Programme Certificate, which should be refreshed every 3 years.

A digital certificate will be made available for you to download normally within 48hrs of successfully completing this course.

Paper copies of certificates can be supplied subject to a small administration fee.

  • Loss of consciousness or asphyxiation from gases, vapours, fumes or lack of oxygen
  • Drowning from an increase of liquid levels
  • Asphyxiation from free flowing solids when working in confined space environments
